The Serpent in the Shanghai Tunnels

Detective Ana Kurylenko is a recovering heroin addict turned homicide detective hell bent on ridding the world of wicked men who prey on innocent girls. But Ana soon finds herself chasing a very different dragon. For lurking beneath the overpasses of Portland’s teeming homeless population, and slithering through the vast labyrinth of abandoned tunnels hidden beneath the city’s streets, lies an ancient evil whose roots are deeply intertwined with Ana’s very own DNA, and who has set its deadly sights on her. Will Ana confront the demons of her past and escape the monster's scaley clutches? Or will she become yet another victim of the dreaded Flower Crown Killer?

Drawing on the old Slavic myths about the Zmei, dragon-like creatures who could assume human form in order to seduce young maidens and drive them to madness, this character driven novel blends together elements of horror, mythology, criminal forensics, the occult, and historical fiction, with just a twist of dark humor to bring to life a cautionary tale about the horrors that await us when we mistake the fractured contents of our unconscious for fate.

The Hobo Spider

Few things scare Celeste these days, aside from Spiders, and admitting to herself that she married the wrong man. But after a year of government lockdowns exposes the cracks in her fledgling relationship, Celeste is finally about ready to call it quits with Holden. In an effort to save their dying marriage, she decides to book them a vacation on the Oregon Coast where they first met and fell in love, in hopes it will help them rekindle the spark that brought them together in the first place. And it couldn't have come at better time.

There's a new serial killer in Oregon; a homeless man whose face was horribly mutated after suffering a necrotic spider bite, and who's been targeting girls in Celeste's age range. At least according to her husband, anyway.

Naturally, Celeste dismisses Holden's little monster story as just another childish attempt to get a rise out of her, and keeps herself focused on getting to the coast so that she can save their marriage. But she’s about to find out that there are some problems you just can't run from, and some monsters in existence more horrifying even than her worst nightmares.
